Front Line Leader- Build Team (Coventry RI)DescriptionResponse Technologies is seeking a Front Line Leader for the Build Team located in Coventry Rhode Island. The Front Line Leader Build Team will lead and oversee the build for experimental detail parts test articles assemblies and prototypes. The Front Line Leader Build Team will supervise a team of shop floor employees while exhibiting superior leadership in an engineering capacity.Position Responsibilities:+ Exercise engineering methods to evaluate new processes and techniques for building complex experimental components and assemblies+ Influence engineering definition and best practices to improve producibility+ Responsible for establishing executing and overseeing planning and builds for detail parts and assemblies for risk reduction PV DT and experimental aircraft+ Establish and foster relationships with programs and innovation teams (customers) to build trust and meet performance expectations+ Establish strong and effective working relationships with shop floor employees and engineering counterparts+ Provide daily assignments and direction to direct reports while also preparing engineering and shop floor teams for mid-to-long term including roadmap for mfg capabilities enhancements+ Identify equipment personnel shop floor layout and facilities involvementDetailed knowledge of manufacturing technologies should include the majority but not necessarily all of the following:+ Composites Manufacturing Processes+ Ply flattening laser projector programming composite tooling methodology and cure cycle development (understanding the chemical material and thermal processes)+ Fabrication Processes+ Installation of fasteners and shims assembly tooling methodology sheet-metal fabrication aircraft fixturing drilling aircraft assembly and system installation+ Warehouse Processes+ SAP transactions receiving inspection return to vendor inventory management bin systems kitting and issuing and Apriso MES and MOM+ Knowledge of company processes including RP policies: BPS material specifications fabrication specifications supplier qualification certification QAPP SQRM+ Airframe Rotors and/or Drive Systems Manufacturing and Assembly+ Project planning budgeting business systems/practices+ Advanced Inspection Technologies (NDI etc) and Quality ControlQualificationsPosition Qualifications:+ Bachelors in Mechanical Aerospace Materials Science Manufacturing Engineering or other closely related technical Engineering discipline+ Minimum of 5 years leadership experience in a manufacturing and or engineering environment preferred aerospace industry+ Knowledge of composite materials and structural assembly in an experimental environment aerospace structures and familiarity with aerospace industry manufacturing method+ Demonstrated leadership experience informally or formally+ Previous supervisor or leadership experience in a shop floor setting preferred+ Excellent communication skillsPreferred Attributes:+ This candidate should be creative entrepreneurial and an empowering team leader+ This candidate should be comfortable dealing with ambiguity+ This candidate should have a Continuous Improvement mindset toward monitoring and improving organizational processesEEO StatementTextron is committed to providing Equal Opportunity in Employment to all applicants and employees regardless of race color religion gender age national origin military status veteran status handicap physical or mental disability sexual orientation gender identity genetic information or any other characteristic protected by law.Pay Transparency Policy StatementThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about discussed or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
