Responsibilities

The Aerospace Corp. is seeking a Spacecraft Engineer to perform research and development in the field of spacecraft security fault management and resiliency.

Key Functions
Provide expertise in spacecraft fault management systems
Perform research and development in resilient spacecraft architectures
Provide expertise in command and data handling systems (C&DH)
Analyze and make recommendations on enterprise architectures
Lead and mentor small engineering teams to develop prototypes
Support critical program issues

This position can be filled as a Spacecraft Engineer or Sr. Spacecraft Engineer

Qualifications

Required Qualifications for Spacecraft Engineer
A Bachelor s or advanced degree in Engineering
Eight or more years of experience working with C&DH systems flight software and/or bus architectures for large spacecraft
Knowledge of spacecraft architecture trades
Ability to analyze design trades and understand system risk
Fundamental understanding of spacecraft fault management systems
Experience leading small teams
Experience with NRO or SMC space systems
Demonstrated leadership skills
Demonstrated technical breadth
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance which is issued by the US government. US citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.

Required Qualifications for Sr. Spacecraft Engineer
A Bachelor s or advanced degree in Engineering
Twelve or more years of experience for Sr. Engineering Specialist working with C&DH systems flight software and/or bus architectures for large spacecraft
Knowledge of spacecraft architecture trades
Ability to analyze design trades and understand system risk
Fundamental understanding of spacecraft fault management systems
Experience leading small teams
Experience with NRO or SMC space systems
Demonstrated leadership skills
Demonstrated technical breadth
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance which is issued by the US government. US citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.

Preferred
Experience leading the development of technical prototypes or proof of concepts
Experience with ground system design
Experience developing software/firmware for embedded systems
Experience with spacecraft control
Experience leading the development of technical prototypes or proof of concepts
Knowledge of cyber security defense in depth techniques
Current TS/SCI security clearance
