The Transportation Warehousing and Logistics (TWL) team is here to simplify the complexity.TWL supports operations and strategy in logistics warehousing and reusable packaging engineering. TWL projects are expansive across the Boeing enterprise affecting all business units and have immediate impacts on financial results. Autonomy for individuals and teams to execute on the right business solutions is supported throughout the organization. This fast-paced team operates much like a start-up with good ideas moving quickly into operations. Joining TWL as an intern will introduce you to the Boeing companys many operations requiring logistics support.Specific TWL internship opportunities include:+ Enterprise Packaging Intern - Partners with Design Engineering Supply Chain Sourcing and Operations to provide integrated solutions that ensure Boeing products arrive at intended destinations in prime condition. Determines efficiencies and prepares improvements for implementation as part of a cost effective worldwide distribution and storage network.+ Enterprise Logistics Intern - Receives and responds to internal and external customer requests for transportation. Performs studies and conducts research to determine the feasibility viability and capability of a program or project. Collects and logs data from various systems to perform analysis on costs lanes equipment performance processes and procedures to make recommendations and implement improvements.+ Enterprise Warehousing Strategy Analyst Intern: Deep dives into maturing a cross-functional work stream aligning new space requests with enterprise network strategies. Assists with right-sizing material flow through a network of warehousing and logistical hubs. Investigates proper resource and requirements balancing to meet critical customer expectations. Drives critical visibility within our Supply Chain to mature internal benchmark capabilities. Enables critical improvement initiatives driven by proper performance defect analysis.The Summer 2021 Transportation Warehousing and Logistics Intern Program will be mainly held via telecommuting which does not require applicants to live near applicable location(s) during the Summer 2021 Intern Program.These positions must meet Export Control compliance requirements therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen lawful permanent resident refugee or asylee.Employer not willing to sponsor applicants for employment visa status.Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):+ Ability to work full-time for 10-12 weeks during Summer 2021+ Currently an enrolled student attending a college or university with an expected graduation date on or after August 2021Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):+ Majoring in: Packaging Supply Chain Industrial Design Engineering Business Transportation and Logistics Entrepreneurship Business Strategy Facilities Management or Industrial Engineering+ Strong academic performance (GPA of 3.0 or above)+ Previous internships or work experience and/or involvement with student or civic organizations+ Passion for the aerospace industry and interest and enthusiasm for a career with Boeing+ Current Junior or higher class standing as of May 2021+ The ability to Telecommute+ The ability to relocate and work onsite+ Preferred skills: Project management CAD or graphic design skills data analytics process design and improvement problem solving ability to work independently logistics and/or computing skillsRelocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
