Facility ProfileTGH is the areas only level I trauma center and one of just two ABA-verified adult and pediatric burn centers in Florida. With five medical helicopters we transport critically injured or ill patients from 23 surrounding counties to receive the advanced care they need. Our team of dedicated emergency care professionals provide patients with the highest quality of care. Our highly qualified and experienced Aero med medical team includes RNs Paramedics and EMTs. Our aviation partners the pilots and mechanics also are integral team members.Job SummaryUnder administrative supervision of the Senior Director of Emergency Services the Director of Aeromed is responsible for assessment implementation and evaluation of administrative operations to deliver efficient and effective delivery of patient care. Provides clinical and administrative support to staff providing direct/indirect care to patients on a specific unit. Responsible on a 24-hour basis for the programmatic operational and financial management of the unit/program. Interviews hires assigns work to and evaluates work performance of employees supervised. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission vision and values of Tampa General Hospital. Serves as Director for four bases and represents TGH with 23 counties EMS Fire Police and Hospitals.Required Skills Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida BSN Masters Degree and Paramedic Certificate required. ACLS PALS BLS AHA NRP certification required. Advance trauma certification via ATLS or equivalent advanced trauma education as approved by the leadership and advanced certification such as CFRN CCRN or CEN preferred. Minimum 5 years Flight Nurse experience required. Leadership experience required. Knowledgeable about EMS and FAA rules and regulations for air medical crew.
