The USA Jet Airlines Crew Scheduler provides comprehensive and analytical strategies to assist in ensuring adequate staffing is available while maintaining compliance with applicable FARs and company policies.
Major Responsibilities

  • Creating and maintaining a schedule for the pilots (Part 121 135 and 91) which takes into consideration all requirements of applicable FARs company policies and training department needs to ensure maximum crew availability.
  • Tracking of sick vacation birthday bonus and regular days off for the accurate reporting of Crew Utilization for use by payroll and Operations Management.
  • Interact with crew members and process flight cancellations operational re-assignments crew swaps and crew movements.
  • Assist Flight Following and Lift Optimization departments with crew re-assignments due to irregular operations such as weather delays ATC protocols and maintenance issues.
  • Provide the most cost effective and time efficient transportation of crew members to duty stations as the schedule dictates taking into consideration location and cost of the accommodations.
  • Collaborate with Training Department to coordinate schedules to most effectively allocate resources ensure regulatory requirements are met for each crewmember.
  • Coordinate with departments to ensure correct allocation of crew resources and timely information of crew status.
  • Drives improvements in the daily operation through cross-functional problem solving and collaboration with other departments.
  • Assist Flight Following Lift Optimization and Ascent to perform other duties as assigned.
  • Fosters a positive and professional relationship with all USA Jet Airlines and Ascent employees.

Licensure Registration and/or Certification Required

None

Education Required
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Experience Required
  • At least one year crew scheduling experience with FAR 135 or FAR 121 operations preferred

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required
  • Ability to read interpret and apply procedures from documents such as FARS with a focus on flight and duty regulations safety rules company operating and procedural manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before pilots/employees of the organization
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form
  • Ability to contain emotions exuding “grace under pressure” regardless of the situation
  • Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple activities to meet deadlines utilizing effective time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals; compute rate ratio and percent; and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Must be able to read both crew scheduling board and flight routings board
  • Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills including tact diplomacy and flexibility to work effectively with management various departments team members providers vendors and internal or external customers
  • Demonstrated performance of the following skillsets: customer service etiquette “grace under pressure” active listening and commitment to excellence
  • Must be able to think and react quickly with a sense of urgency to time-sensitive problem situations.
  • Able to complete assignments with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
  • Computer software knowledge of key Microsoft Office platforms including Microsoft Word and Excel

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • While performing the duties of the job the employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move items 10-20 pounds
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
