Position Information

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore ( UMES ) is accepting resumes for a full-time position beginning July 2021 in Aviation. The UMES Aviation Science degree program prepares students with the technical and professional skills and disciplines necessary for the operation and management of aviation enterprises including piloting business management and administration.

Responsibilities

Oversight of Flight student progress; Dispatch of student solo flights; Regular interface with Chief Flight Instructor regarding student progress and evaluation; student scheduling attendance and progress tracking; Coordination of student transport to and from airports for the accomplishment of flight training; Interfacing with flight instructors and flight schools regularly; Coordination of scheduled aircraft maintenance with student training; Conduct of primary flight student training to include both ground and flight training. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Classification 25-0000 Education Training and Library Occupations

Required Qualifications

Bachelor s degree preferably in Aviation Science. Experience in flight operations flight simulation and training.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Flight and Ground Instructor Ratings and experience.

Additional FAA pilot and/or mechanic certifications.

Required Knowledge Skills Abilities

Applicant must have demonstrated time management and organizational skills; administrative data-processing written reporting skills; skill in oversight of training operations and student tracking and evaluation; clean driving record and ability to drive state vehicles;

Certifications/Registrations

FAA Certified Flight Instructor Airplane Single Engine Land and Valid FAA Class II Medical required.
