NDT Technician Job DescriptionBasic Duties / Responsibilities (not all inclusive):Performs analyses inspections and tests that locate and characterize material conditions and flaws in raw materials or finished products from manufacturing to ensure quality standards and compliance to customer and regulatory requirements and tolerance specifications. Uses various measuring devices and testing equipment. Rejects nonconforming products documenting defects in accordance with procedures and work instructions. Works from engineering such as blueprints mylars 3D models customer specifications or inspection instructions techniques and checklists. Prepares and monitors quality statistics and reports. Reviews production records for conformance to procedures. Performs and records daily weekly and monthly system checks to ensure the process is delivering the intended results. Adjusts and calibrates systems as needed. Performs other job related tasks as assigned by management
Basic Qualifications: Must have experience / understanding of: High School Diploma/GED required with at least 5 years experience in field desired. NDT Level II Certification required (PT). UT and MT Level II Certification a plus. Prior quality experience in manufacturing and the ability to perform desired skill set Ability to interpret requirements and apply techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections. Able to demonstrate skills in reading and interpreting engineering drawings blueprints mylars and ability to interrogate Model Based Definition (MBD). Must demonstrate skills in the correct use of common inspection and test measurement tools.
Physical Requirements: Primarily manufacturing/assembly environment. Must be able to work in the following environmental conditions: noise vibration proximity to moving mechanical parts moving vehicles electrical current. Must be able to bend and reach. Must have close visual acuity such as viewing a computer terminal extensive reading visual inspection involving small defects small parts and/or operation of machines and/or assembly or fabrication parts at close distance to the eyes. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to maneuver up to 50 pounds. Will be performing substantial movements (motions) of the wrists hands and/or fingers.
