Main accountabilities include:
Operational Management
+ Deliver superior service to customer airlines according to airline requirement.
+ Daily operational tracking of performance taking immediate action to correct any shortfalls.
+ “Pro-activity” by the meaning of continuous actions to improve efficiency and quality of MA services.
+ Ensure that all measures are taken to secure a safe on time operations of all aircraft handling services in accordance with airlines requirements.
+ Perform Daily Briefings with the subordinated staff with the purpose of implementing new procedures follow-up on incidents/irregularities refresh of procedures etc.
+ Reporting irregularities incidents discrepancies and potential complaints to superiors.
+ Liaise with other departments being a key player in the company.
+ Ensure that the aircraft loading is in accordance with the airline’s requirements.
+ Particular emphasis is placed upon the need to anticipate any delay in due time in order to be able to take preventative actions.
+ Ensures that all relevant delay/incident/irregularity reports are completed by all relevant staff involved in any delay (MA Delay)/irregularity/incident.
+ While ensuring compliance to the safety standards and safe practices conduct preliminary investigation into any incidents/accidents /loading errors/ baggage discrepancies and provide the operational management with reports of any / all irregularities faced during the shift.
+ Ensures that the workplace is clean and tidy.
+ Ensures that the airlines SLA’s are respected and maintained and any irregularities are reported immediately to the Management Team.
+ Ensures and takes immediate actions in order to prevent any irregularities in the activity.
+ Collaborates with all other operational departments in order to perform a safe and operative service.
+ Operate all equipment including air-bridges company vehicles systems radio’s telephones and computer equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the relevant training received.
+ Always wear the PPE on the Apron during working hours.
+ Mandatory to attend training courses related to their job duties as may be arranged by the Company.
+ Responsible in assisting the Shift in charge by managing all the resources pertaining to the relevant are and optimally controlling and directing the available resources (manpower and equipment) to achieve the specific area objectives. Accountable for ensuring the adequate resources are planned and deployed in all areas of ramp activity and that all equipment used is serviceable condition and that all personnel work as per safety rules and regulations.
+ Ensure communications within the department are effective and consistent.
+ Conducting probationary reviews coaching and developing staff through regular appraisals in line with Company policies and Procedures.
+ Ensure appropriate and accurate reporting of all accidents and incidents incurred whilst on duty via AVA/MORSE.
+ Ensure that all staff fully understand that safety is the number one priority for the company.
+ Create and sustain a safe working environment and culture. Ensure all staff comply with the Health and Safety at Work.
+ Ensure that ramp activities are undertaken as per individual requirements of all carriers achieving the highest standard of customer services.
+ Ensure all staff comply with the Company safety and security standards.
+ Continually challenge existing practices to create improvements in all areas.
+ Ensure that all staff are fully briefed and trained in line with our Airline operating procedures and comply with directives set.
+ Always represent the Company in a professional manner.
+ Monitor all the flights and ensure that all activities are carried out as per various airline requirements the Service Level agreements with regards to baggage and cargo and are adhered to that the “on time performance’’ (OTP) of flights are maintained.
+ Manage the performance and productivity of the teams within the specific area of responsibility and collaborate peers and different sections of Menzies and Airport Operations to achieve the most productive cost efficient and responsive quality solution for all activities and issues.
+ Maintain regular coordination and communication with the other supervisors coordinators and allocators on the shift to ensure that all activities are synchronized adequately covered and that cross utilization of resources is achieved where necessary.
+ Proactively identify and deal with operational issues and work with allocators and coordinators to solve as required.
+ Ensure that the handover process from one shift to the other is carried out in an efficient manner.
+ Ensure that all staff are fully updated and informed of all operational issues company updates and station operational notices.
+ Identify training needs and forward recommendations in order to maintain performance level of staff.
+ Ensure that all equipment is serviceable before the beginning of each shift and that unserviceable equipment is tagged and send to workshop for servicing/repairs.
+ Ensure that all Radios and PDA’s (if available) allocated to the Ramp Department are maintained in good condition and that a strict evidence is kept.
+ Manage any day to day operational incidents – disruption management.
+ To ensure continuous reduction in overtime costs.
+ Perform SMART inspections as per the targets set by the Safety and Compliance Department.
+ Ensuring that daily audits take place in all areas of the operation including but not limited to:
+ Aircraft turnaround
+ Service Level Agreements
+ Safety/equipment
+ Uniform standards
Required Skills:
+ Well organised with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy able to work on their own initiative to specific deadlines have the ability to recognise and deal with challenges promptly and efficiently.
+ Demonstrate ability to lead coach and develop staff.
+ Must have valid G or G2 Driver’s license and hold a DA.
+ Ability to work within a pressured environment.
+ Must be able to work extended hours and flexible shifts when required which may include weekends and holidays.
+ Must be able to lift up to 70lbs when required.
+ Must be flexible to adapt to changing demands/circumstances.
+ Well organised with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy able to work on their own initiative to specific deadlines have the ability to recognise and deal with challenges promptly and efficiently.
