Boeing Global Services is currently seeking an experienced Production Engineer to join the C-17A Heavy Maintenance Engineering team in San Antonio, TX. Production Engineering is responsible for providing maintenance engineering support to the C-17A Heavy Maintenance program. We are looking for proactive individuals who want to go beyond their desk and into the maintenance line to understand issues and drive resolution. This position requires excellent communication and collaboration skills and the ability to partner closely with production personnel.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. (USA-San Antonio, TX)
Position Responsibilities:
Provide C-17A Maintenance Operations (internal customer) with troubleshooting and repair guidance (including mechanical systems, electrical systems as well as structural sub-systems) via Non-Conformance Record (NCR) disposition as well as in-person support
Provide assistance with the interpretation of technical documents to ensure the intent and purpose of the documentation is understood and followed
Provide process improvement to the maintenance operation by preparing and transmitting Publication Change Requests (PCR’s)
Position may require occasional travel (10%)
Prospective candidate must be flexible to support 2nd shift on an occasional basis as well as weekends (also on an occasional, on-call basis)
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Knowledge of Aircraft modifications or aircraft production environments
Minimum of 5 years’ experience of assisting with analyses, root cause analysis and drafting dispositions for non-conformances.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in reading/creating Engineering drawings, specifications, processes and design manuals
This requires the ability to walk, stand, and enter into aircraft via steps or ladders as needed.
Also, candidate may be in proximity to chemicals when observing/gathering data in an area in the factory where chemicals are in use.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Material Review Board (MRB) Certification or similar Liaison Engineering experience
C-17A Engineering experience
Production Engineering experience
Typical Education & Experience:
Bachelors of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Structural or Electrical Engineering preferred) from an ABET accredited program. Bachelors of Science in Physics is also acceptable
Relocation:
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
Travel:
Occasional travel may be required in support of the program and customer.
