How do I know if I’m eligible if I don’t attend a university but I am a student?

All aviation students from all aviation related study programs qualify.  The qualifying factor is that your course of study and/or program is aviation related.  The program is open to currently enrolled students and students who have completed their course of study within the last year (365 days).

What if I find a job, can I cancel my service?

Yes, you may cancel at any time.  This program simply extends your subscription by adding a free period to your paid account.

Why do you ask for a valid credit card?

While all eligible participants receive an extended free service period added to an existing account, the account reverts back to its regular billing terms at the end of the free period.  All account types automatically renew to ensure account continuity so you'll need to log in and use the self cancellation process before the last day of your free period to avoid renewal.

The Avjobs Cares Discount Program is designed to ease the transition of displaced aviation employees and allow the industry to recapture quality talent.  The program provides eligible participants with an extended free service period added to the end of an existing accounts' regular billing cycle.  The extended free period is normally six (6) months of additional service.  If you have been laid off, displaced or furloughed, you may be eligible for an additional six (6) months free service on your existing account.

To receive the Avjobs Cares Discount, you must meet the following eligibility requirements

1. Be displaced from an aviation specific job
2. The severance has already occurred
3. Have lost your job within the last year (365 days)
4. Have a letter of displacement or severance from your previous employer (this must include your last date of employment for verification purposes)

FAQ’s and Common Questions

I just received my severance letter and will lose my job in 60 days, am I still eligible?

Generally, applicants are not eligible for the Cares Discount until they are officially unemployed. However, if you sign up today, you can start searching and applying for jobs immediately. The day you are no longer employed, you become eligible for the Cares Discount and can send in the qualifying documentation for processing.

My company told me they no longer needed me, but didn’t give me a letter, can I still qualify?

Depending on your separation whether it be layoff, furlough, terminations, closures, downsizing, mergers, or bankruptcy, you should receive notice. If you did not, contact your previous employer and request documentation in writing.

I’m a contract employee, am I able to take advantage of this discount?

In order to receive the Cares Discount you have to be unemployed through no fault of your own. If you quit your job you are voluntarily unemployed and are ineligible to receive the Cares Discount. If advance notice of separation is known and agreed upon such as contact positions, early retirement, or resignation, you would not be able to take advantage of this discount.

United States Armed Forces Discount

The Avjobs Military Discount program is designed to ease the transition from the military to a civilian aviation career. If you have recently been discharged from the US Military, Avjobs offers a six (6) month US Military Discount under the Avjobs Cares Re-Employment Program.

To receive the United States Armed Forces Discount, you must meet the following eligibility requirements

What if I’m getting out in three months, but want to start looking for a job now?

What if I’m in the reserves but need to look for a job when I’m not on duty?

You should definitely check out our services, but we cannot offer you free service without a copy of your DD214.

What if I was released from a foreign military, am I still eligible?

At this time, this discount extends to United States Armed Forces only.

Do I have to be an AMTSociety Member to get a year free?

Yes. But you can join the AMTSociety at any time and then claim your year of free service afterward, even if you are already a member of Avjobs.  You can join AMTSociety or Avjobs in any order and submit your request for the free year at any time. Your Avjobs account will just be a regular paid account until we receive your qualifying documentation.

What if I’m not a member of AMTSociety, can I still get a year free?

The program is designed in support of your dedication to the future of the aviation community through your participation in AMTSociety membership and activities. To process your AMTSociety Member Benefit Program claim form, Avjobs needs proof of your AMTSociety Membership and status. If you do not have an active membership card, it is necessary for you to provide documentation proving your active status. What if I don't send in the AMTSociety Member Benefit claim form?

The program simply extends your subscription by adding a free year to the end of your paid subscription. Depending on the payment plan you selected your credit card will automatically be charged monthly, quarterly or annually until we receive your AMTSociety Member Benefit Program claim form and accompanying documentation, or until you close your account. Please note that it is the responsibility of the participant to know the rules of the programs as set forth in this document when claiming eligibility.

Participants are asked to furnish documentation supporting their eligibility with these rules.  Purchase of a qualifying Avjobs, Inc.
